The 16GB Raspberry Pi 5 is listed at $385 on PiShop US, a steep increase from the $120 price at which the model launched in January 2025. Rising memory costs are behind the latest price increases, according to the report.

The Raspberry Pi 5’s other listed prices are $45 for the 1GB model, $77.50 for 2GB, $110 for 4GB and $175 for 8GB. The 4GB version launched in 2023 at $60.

The 16GB Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 has risen from $335 to $375. Prices for other configurations also vary: PiShop US lists the Compute Module 5 at $67.50 for 1GB, $75.50 for 2GB, $100 for 4GB and $165 for 8GB, with wireless versions listed at $75.50, $105, $170 and $380 for the respective configurations shown in the source.

Raspberry Pi CEO Ebon Upton said the latest increases reflect a lack of alternatives in the current market, which he described as temporary. The company says it hopes to reverse the increases when memory costs fall. Upton has also said it is trying to avoid raising the price of the Pi 500+ keyboard computer.

The report notes shortages across several models, alongside scalping that can make the boards harder to find at affordable prices.
