Microsoft is preparing several Windows-11/">Windows 11 improvements for its November Patch Tuesday update, with changes aimed at performance, privacy, power management and accessibility. The features are being rolled out in stages.

accelerated app launch is designed to help Microsoft Edge start faster, with the improvement expected to be more noticeable when a computer is handling several demanding tasks at once.

The update will also reorganize privacy settings for camera, microphone and location access. The permissions are intended to be easier to understand, with information about how each is used.

For laptops, Adaptive Hibernate will adjust when a device enters hibernation according to its battery level. Microsoft says the feature should help extend battery life without making the computer unnecessarily slow to wake.

Accessibility changes include more customization options for Windows Magnifier, including the ability to set separate zoom levels for different screens.

Users who want to try the changes ahead of the full rollout can install the optional October preview update, KB5127936, for Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 26H2. It also includes other changes, such as a customizable right-click menu. Otherwise, the features are expected in November’s monthly update.
