Vulkan 1.4.367 was released this morning as the newest specification revision for the high-performance graphics and compute API. Beyond standard minor bug fixes and clarifications, this update introduces a new driver ID for Borealis. This identifier supports the Apple Silicon Mesa Vulkan driver fork that is embracing AI capabilities as part of the Aurora Silicon project.

A second significant change in this release is the addition of the VK_KHR_maintenance12 extension. Valve engineer Mike Blumenkrantz collaborated on this extension alongside engineers from NVIDIA, Nintendo, LunarG, and AMD. Consistent with previous maintenance extensions, this update bundles a collection of minor changes that are not individually substantial enough to warrant separate extensions.

The 12th maintenance specification includes several specific technical updates. These features allow for non-uniform indexing of values within variables using the PushConstant storage class and support single-aspected depth/stencil blits and resolves. Additionally, the update establishes a dedicated limit for input attachment indices and permits VkDeviceQueueCreateInfo::pQueuePriorities to be set as NULL. The complete list of changes for Vulkan 1.4.367 is available via GitHub.
