Intel has submitted a patch series for review to add SoundWire support for Raptor Lake-P and Raptor Lake-M to the upstream Intel AVS driver. The platforms use SoundWire to stream audio in automotive applications.

Intel’s Malibou Lake platform uses Raptor Lake processors for in-vehicle computing, digital cockpits and camera processing. It is the company’s first software-defined vehicle platform based on Raptor Lake. The source says it will be followed by automotive platforms based on Raptor Lake and Nova Lake.

The patch series describes this as the first time Intel has brought its Raptor Lake automotive SoundWire work into the public domain, with the aim of incorporating the support into the mainline Linux kernel.
